MISANTHROPIC SALSA
I signed up for salsa dance classes recently. I like the movement. I like the music. Makes me feel great. Except for the one thing: I don't like people touching me. I don't want to touch them either. Their faces seem too close. They intrude my privacy. And when they eat something strong, like onion, I have to hold my breath, not to inhale this. Otherwise I'll just vomit.
And their hands: cold, limp, sweaty. They are like some ugly reptiles, moving, stirring, quivering.
And their movement: like crocodiles ashore, panting and sweating, and stomping their feet, and flailing all these arms they don't know what to do with.
I dropped the class after 2 times. I guess I just don't like men after all.

Sexisms
Lev recently looked at the nudes on the screen saver, got all excited and said: "Diadia" which means 'a man' in Russian. I guess he meant 'a human being'. But so small and already using this sexist language!

We were waiting for our friends to visit us. I was frying pancakes, and something got there on the stove and burned. I had to open the front door to calm down the smoke detector. Lev saw the open door and immediately brought me his shoes. Does the open door serve as a sign we are going out? Reminds me of a Pavlovian dog.

"No, Lev," I said. "We are not going for a walk. We are waiting for the Kalmans to come. We can't miss them."

But next he brought me his second pair of shoes. Maybe I just don't like this particular pair...

"No," I said. "We can't leave home right now. We are waiting for someone."

He shuffled back to the front door - still open. I thought I managed to persuade him. But when after a while he brought me my own shoes, I agreed that persistence was the best part about toddlers. After I was done with pancakes we went outside and walked to and fro near our driveway, not to miss the guests.

I was working on the computer today, when Lev brought me the book with geese, and kept saying gagagaga. I was so happy about it that I started hugging and kissing him, then seated him on my lap. And here, I got a big wet kiss - the one I never thought was possible... :) Smile all my way through the day today...
